**Beloved Carnegie Library Staff Member Bids Farewell**
PITTSBURGH, PA – Longtime staff member Moira, a familiar face to many at the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh - Main (CLP-Main), has announced her departure after 2.5 years of service. During her time at the library, Moira was known for assisting patrons in the Recollection Studio—a space where visitors could digitize family photos, home movies, and other cherished memorabilia.
In a heartfelt message to library patrons, Moira expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to help preserve personal histories. She recounted working with materials such as family scrapbooks, Kodachrome slides, cassette tapes, and film negatives, often giving individuals the chance to relive memories from decades past. Moira also acknowledged the trust that patrons placed in her when handling their fragile and irreplaceable items to ensure they could share those treasures with loved ones, no matter where they lived.
Moira shared her appreciation for the community’s stories, which brought life into her time at the library. She also mentioned moments of joy and assured patrons that while she is moving on, her library card remains active.
Photos from Moira's time at CLP-Main offer a glimpse into the fun and meaningful work she carried out. Library patrons and staff alike will surely miss her presence.
