Mosley and Calder Sculptures Shine at SAM
Staff Report /
**Thaddeus Mosley and Alexander Calder Sculptures Star at Seattle Art Museum**
The Seattle Art Museum (SAM) is currently hosting an exhibition titled *Following Space: Thaddeus Mosley & Alexander Calder*. The exhibit pairs works by two renowned sculptors—98-year-old Pittsburgh-based artist Thaddeus Mosley and the late Alexander Calder. Visitors have the rare opportunity to experience Mosley’s breathtaking wood sculptures alongside Calder’s iconic mobile and stable creations.
According to *The Seattle Times*, the exhibition offers an immersive experience that showcases Mosley’s dedication to his craft, his lifelong passion for jazz, and his ability to translate rhythm and movement into his art. The museum has added a special touch by playing a jazz playlist curated in part by Mosley himself. The playlist can be enjoyed daily from 11:00 am to noon.
The exhibit’s unique juxtaposition highlights the interplay of forms, inviting viewers to explore the relationship between motion, balance, and space. Visitors are encouraged to see the sculptures up close to fully appreciate their intricate details and craftsmanship.
For those interested, tickets for the exhibit are available at [visitsam.org/calder](https://visitsam.org/calder).
